It was 20 years ago, on 19 July 2005, that the German Pfandbrief Act (PfandBG) came into force. On that same day, the VDH (the Association of German Mortgage Banks) was renamed the vdp (Association of German Pfandbrief Banks).

On 10 and 11 October 2024, the covered bond community looked to Budapest, where the 26th Central European Covered Bond Conference (CECBC) took place.
